nr: 338 /  1928 Lincoln Model L Town Car

The take over of Lincoln by Ford, meant a victory of Henry Ford over Henry M Leland. Ford was forced in the early 20th century, to sell his company, later to be known as Cadillac, to a group of investers, headed by Leland. This take over gave him huge satisfaction. This Lincoln, with its huge measurements and exclusive "Sedan de Ville" chassis, is a rare sight. The driver was seated seperately outside, and instructions were given by horn from the inside area. This car is equuiped with a V8 engine with a block angle of 60 degrees, giving the car a top speed of 70mp/h (112km.h). Later Lincoln increased the engine size of the L-eight model from 357.8 cu inches (5.9L), to 384.8 cu inches (6.3L). Special about the Lincoln is, that never were year or period models produced. Delivery times were, especially in the beginning, very long. Often, one had to wait for over a year before delivery. Please note the radiator mascot, it being the famous Greyhound.
